IW build
hey i was just messing around, with my l337 peppermint daggers and i decided to make a build using IW, just so it wouldn't matter what daggers i used, and I think i came up with a pretty good PvE build ^^
I guess any max armor would work, but i use Nightstalkers +15 armor while attacking
Any daggers can work, but i use Crippling platinum sickles of enchanting, that way I can keep IW up.
Shadow Arts = 10 + 1 + 3
Illusion Magic = 12
Deadly Arts = 8
Illusionary Weaponry {Elite}
Illusion of Weakness
Dancing Daggers
Mantis Touch
Blinding Powder
Augury of Death (can be replaced with Entangling Asp)
Dark Escape
Shadow Refuge
uhm energy can be a problem if you spam constantly.
Feel free to suggest things.

You could have a reasonable spike with dancing daggers->mantis touch->augury->death blossom->exhausting assault. About 250 damage inc deep woud compressed over around 3/4 seconds. Dual attacks are useful on a me/a or a/me IW with no dagger mastery as they guarantee double strike. As they don't hit you can repeatedly use death blossom though that would be quite energy intensive. With 0 DM and no duals your dps is extremely low (IW has terrible dps even with flurry but nevermind that, it's just not a very good skill) so all the /a is really offering is masses of defense via feigned neutrality and/or dark escape. IoW and shadow refuge is crap, blinding powder probably isn't worth it here.

The whole point of going assassin for IW would've been doublestriking daggers, but I don't see any daggers mastery at all.

indeed, you'll need dagger mastery to make this build worthwile, or spammable dual attacks.

Sorry, I thought it wouldnt matter. Silly me
And I thought that dual attacks wouldn't work because they all say "If it hits" and with IW i figgured it doesnt work out.
I'll work on it, thanks for all of your help

Yeah Dual attacks don't work, but Dagger Mastery makes your daggers "double strike" if you autoattack.

Not only do dual attacks work, you can string them together because they don't count as hits for the purpose of calculating position in a chain.
It does mean however you need dancing daggers/mantis touch/entangling asp/iron palm etc as your lead/offhand as lead and offhand attack skills don't 'count' either.
Ignore what I said about exhausting assault though, it's been a long time since I've used IW and I was thinking back to the days when exhausting followed an offhand like other duals. That means it's impossible to get a decent minispike, 260 damage spread over 1.33 seconds not 3/4 seconds as a me/a with augury.

why are you using shadow refuge? Do you not know what happens if you use Feigned Neutrality+ Deadly Paradox?
Forget mantis touch, you're already faster than everyone else.

Its a nice idea, but at 12 Illusion magic you do 34 damage per hit. For an assassin... I dont think thats "major dps". Roughly 13 hits to kill an enemy.
Using a normal BoS build i can inflict WAY more damage, also lay 2-3 conditions on an enemy. ALSO I can do this under 8 hits, this means less time.
However, this is one of the better, well thought out, IW A/Me builds i've seen, im curious to see how it turns out.
